Wheel alignment, or tracking, is the process of ensuring your vehicle’s wheels are set to the optimum position, as per the car manufacturer’s specifications.

If you have Incorrect alignment it may result in rapid irregular tyre wear and can even affect the handling and safety of the vehicle.

Wheel alignment can be kcocked out by hitting kerbs, driving into a potholes or by excessive wear on steering or suspension components. It is important to get your wheel alignment checked annually to ensure you get the most out of your tyres.

Checking your wheel alignment regularly will make your tyre wear evenly and prolong the tyre life, also increase fuel efficiency due to the reduced rolling resistance with the road – saving you pounds at the pump.

Keep an eye out for unusual wear on your tyres, such as premature wear on the inside or outside shoulder, which could be a sign of incorrect alignment.

Every car has a specific steering track setting for its front wheels. If this becomes wrong, by striking a kerb or hitting a pothole or simply by wear and tear, tyre wear can become rapidy reduced inc uneven wear. Incorrect wheel alignment becomes obvious when either the inner or the outer edge of the tyres become unevenly worn or a "feathering" effect becomes noticeable. If you suspect your wheel alignment is incorrect - have it checked at EXTREME TYRES LTD immediately. We recommend having it checked every 6 month or when tyres or steering components have been changed or if you notice any change is tyre wear.
